Prattville police say 41-year-old John Aubrey Grizzell was arrested in Attalla on Dec. 4, 2025, on 32 charges related to child sexual abuse material and first-degree sexual abuse.

AUTAUGA COUNTY — A Prattville man is being held on a $1.1 million cash-only bond after authorities arrested him Thursday on more than 32 felony charges tied to an extensive child sexual exploitation investigation.

According to Prattville police, 41-year-old John Aubrey Grizzell was taken into custody on December 4, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m. in Attalla, Alabama. Officers arrested Grizzell on outstanding warrants stemming from an ongoing investigation involving the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), possession of CSAM, and first-degree sexual abuse.

Police said Grizzell faces 32 total charges, reflecting the severity and scope of the allegations. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Autauga County Metro Jail, where a judge set his combined bond at $1,110,000 — cash only.

Court records show investigators discovered video evidence on Grizzell’s cellphone, including material he allegedly recorded himself, leading to multiple counts involving the production of illegal content.

Authorities have not released information about potential victims, nor have they detailed how long the alleged activity may have been ongoing. Police say the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible as digital forensics analysts continue to review the recovered material.

Prattville Police Department officials encourage anyone with information related to the case to contact investigators as they continue piecing together the full extent of Grizzell’s activities.

Grizzell remains in custody and has not been granted bond options beyond the court-ordered cash requirement.
