The Progressive Union M. B. Church blessed the Huntsville community with ‘Gas on God’, a free gas giveaway on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Kroger on Oakwood Avenue in Huntsville. The newly installed Pastor of Progressive Union, Rev. Dion Watkins, lead his first community outreach project as Pastor. The gas giveaway started at 10:00 a.m. and ended about an hour later. A total of $3,000.00 in gas was donated to the community, with each car receiving $20.00 in gas (150 recipients), a personal greeting from Pastor Watkins and other members of the church and a CD of a recent Progressive Union worship service. Church volunteers pumped the gas, so recipients did not have to exit their cars. Plans for more community outreach projects are in the works and will be unveiled later as Pastor Watkins introduces himself to the Huntsville/Madison County area. Progressive Union Church is located at 1917 Brandontown Road in Huntsville, Alabama.
