The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Greater Huntsville Area Chapter (GHAC), Incorporated at the 20th Biennial of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Incorporated, NCBW POWER UP! Excellence LEADS to Change received the distinct honor of the 2021 Model Chapter. The Model Chapter honor is awarded to a chapter that achieved 93 or above ( on a 100- point scale) on its standards report.
Laurie Bone McCaulley, GHAC President, stated,” the achievement of the 2021 Model Chapter could not have happened without the dedication and commitment to NCBW mission from the Unapologetic Black, Educated, and Empowered Professional Women of the Greater Huntsville Area Chapter. It was an honor and privilege to lead you.”
Deidra Willis-Gopher, First Vice President of Programs and GHAC charter member present, noted,” she was there the first time this chapter received this honor, approximately 2006-07, almost fourteen years ago– it has been a long time coming.”
NCBW advocates on behalf of black women and girls through national and local action and strategic alliances that promote its national and international agendas on leadership development and gender equity in health, education, and economic development.
