

(ASSOCIATED PRESS) – – Alabama added just over 580 coronavirus cases since yesterday.
The Alabama Department of Public Health’s Sept. 22 10 a.m. numbers show the state has had 131,988 confirmed COVID cases since March with 583 new cases reported since yesterday. The state added another 221 presumed cases, bringing that total to 14,596.
Alabama added 12 confirmed deaths to its total, bringing it to 2,304.
As of yesterday, the state reported 802 hospitalizations due to COVID, up from 780 the day before and up from a recent low of 724 on Sept. 18.
The state has conducted 1,065,553 coronavirus tests, 88,595 in the past 14 days. Of those recent tests, 9,476 have been positive.
