1,860 NEW ALABAMA CORONAVIRUS CASES SINCE YESTERDAY; JEFFERSON, MADISON COMBINE FOR 500 PLUS

Alabama added 1,860 coronavirus cases overnight, bringing its 7-day total to more than 10,000.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s July 13 10 a.m. numbers show 54,768 cases in the state, an increase of 10,393 in the last seven days. As of today, there have been 1,096 deaths, up 3 since yesterday.

The greatest number of new cases were in Madison County – 267 – followed by Jefferson (266), Mobile (157) and Shelby (73) counties.

The state has tested 518,827 people since March, 145,964 in the past two weeks. Of those recent tests, 16,520 have been positive cases.

According to ADPH data, 4,327 healthcare workers have tested positive for the virus since March, along with 4,632 long-term care facility employees and residents.
